Gold Coast Show Day

August 31st, 2011 No comments

Are you lucky enough to have the day off and are looking for something to do? Well, we have a couple of runs that may be of interest.

6am Meet at Coolangatta foreshore carpark (opposite McDonalds) for a run. It will be varying lengths depending who wants to do what. Initially, run from Coolangatta to Billinga and return (approx. 8 kms) and can then carry on through Rainbow Bay, Duranbah and along the Tweed River as far as you want to go…… Brekkie afterwards.

2pm Meet at the below Google point (Tullabudgera Connection Road) if you are interested in running through public accessed parts of the Anaconda run course. This should be a bit of fun….. or could be a bit scary for those entered in this event which is only 2 weeks away.

5pm Meet at 4th Avenue, Burleigh Heads for a casual get together. BYO food/drinks. Look forward to seeing you there

Fathers’ Day Turkey Trot – 4 Sept’11

August 30th, 2011 No comments

Well, fathers are not turkeys, but we are holding a turkey trot in their honour.
How well can you pace yourself? The turkey trot involves no watches but competitors have to run a certain distance within an allocated time. The closest to the time is the winner of the turkey trot.
Sound too complicated?
Don’t worry, just come down to the corner of 4th Ave and The Esplanade by 6:30am this Sunday and join in the fun. It will all be explained again. And if you still don’t get it, just run!

Beach Run 14 Aug’11

August 7th, 2011 No comments

Whilst some members are in Sydney sweating it out up Heartbreak Hill, we will be having another beautiful, tranquil beach run. Starting at the corner of 4th Ave and the Esplanade, Burleigh Heads, at 6:30am we will have on offer runs of varying lengths from 5km up to around 12km. We may even see whales from the Burleigh headland!

Walkers are always welcome, too.

Good luck to those entering the City to Surf in Sydney. Enjoy the streets, the thousands of people and the fun of the run. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of interesting stories!
